NuPresto LNG: simplest cycle, shortest schedule.
Gas is compressed to 3,600 psig on two DA300 frames, precooled by a standard propane chiller, cooled against its own flash vapor and boil-off in stainless steel exchangers, then let down to storage. No turbo-expander, no brazed aluminum exchanger, no mixed refrigerant. About 19 TPD at about 800 kWh per tonne, with the lowest capital of the three platforms and a liquefier on site in 6 to 8 months.
Overview
NuPresto LNG is the NuBlu cycle built from standard parts. Pipeline gas at 300 psig or more is compressed to 3,600 psig on two DA300 frames with independent motors, precooled by a standard propane chiller, cooled against its own flash vapor and boil-off in stainless steel exchangers, and let down through a JT valve into a flash drum and storage. Flash vapor and boil-off return through the exchangers to compressor suction, and tail gas fuels the site.
The trade is deliberate: about 800 kWh per tonne in exchange for the lowest capital of the three NuBlu platforms, the simplest operation and a schedule about half that of mLNG, because there is no turbo-expander and no brazed aluminum heat exchanger on the critical path.
Key specifications

|---|---|
| Capacity | About 19 TPD per unit |
| Specific power | About 800 kWh per tonne |
| Compression | Two DA300 frames with independent motors to 3,600 psig |
| Precooling | Standard propane chiller from the commercial HVAC supply chain |
| Heat exchangers | Stainless steel, conventional fabrication, multiple qualified shops |
| Letdown | JT valve to flash drum and storage; flash vapor and boil-off return to suction, tail gas to site fuel |
| Feed gas | 300 psig minimum |
| LNG product | -255 °F at about 14.5 psig (1 barg) |
| Lead time | 6 to 8 months to a liquefier on site, about half that of mLNG |
| Relative capital | Lowest of the three NuBlu platforms |
| Operating complexity | Lowest: two compressor frames, a chiller and a letdown |
Specific power and capacity are indicative at stated feed conditions and are confirmed per site.
Why NuPresto LNG
Nothing on the long-lead list
No turbo-expander and no brazed aluminum heat exchanger, the two items that set the cost and the calendar on every other micro-LNG cycle.
Standard parts, many shops
Stainless steel exchangers and a commercial propane chiller can be built or bought from multiple qualified sources.
The simplest cycle to run
Two compressor frames, a chiller and a letdown. Operators who run a CNG station can run this plant.
Half the schedule
A liquefier on site in 6 to 8 months against 12 to 15 for mLNG.
Shared platform with NuPresto 400
The DA300 frames, controls and spares are the same as the NuPresto 400 CNG package, so one spares inventory covers both.
Efficiency where it is affordable
About 800 kWh per tonne is the price of the simplest cycle. Where a letdown exists, mLNG wins outright; where power is cheap and schedule matters, NuPresto LNG does.
Typical applications
- Flare and stranded gas liquefied at the source
- Mining and remote industry displacing trucked diesel
- Merchant industrial LNG for off-grid plants
- Fleet fueling for trucking, rail and drilling fleets
- Pilot and first-of-a-kind micro-LNG projects on a short schedule
What's included
- Compression, precooling and liquefier skids with interconnecting piping, engineered to the site gas
- Pretreatment modules sized to the gas
- LNG storage, pump and loadout design, including BOG recovery
- MCC, PLC and instrument air engineering
- Start-up spares, first fills and commissioning support
Engineering and aftermarket support
NuBlu delivers liquefaction as equipment supply, as a fuel supply partnership, or as energy as a service. Each engagement starts with the site: gas composition and pressure, offtake volume, power and an LNG loadout path.
