PRS-G series
Glycol bath heater. High-volume, continuous duty with reliable heating.

Electrically heated pressure reduction from CNG tube trailers in two pressure cuts. Two electric heaters offset Joule-Thomson cooling ahead of the cuts, dual trailer manifolds allow changeover without interrupting flow, and a low pressure bypass keeps flow up as the trailer empties. Built for utility and LDC sites where open flame is not an option.
The PRS-E450 is NuBlu's electric pressure reduction system, designed for a gas utility project where fired and catalytic heat were not options. Two 27 kW electric heaters warm the gas ahead of the pressure cuts, the first cut to 500 psig through six parallel regulators and the second cut to delivery pressure, 200 psig as built.
Dual trailer inlet manifolds with check valves allow a trailer changeover without interrupting flow, and a low pressure bypass below 800 psig keeps flow up as the trailer empties. Heaters run only with flow and carry an independent high limit each; a fail-closed shutdown valve, E-stop and low inlet and outlet temperature trips close the loop.
| Design flow | 450 MSCF/d |
|---|---|
| Inlet pressure | Up to 4,700 psig (CNG trailer service) |
| Delivery pressure | 200 psig as built; first cut to 500 psig; other delivery pressures engineered to order |
| Heaters | 2 x 27 kW electric, ahead of the pressure cuts |
| Pressure control | Two cuts: six parallel regulators to 500 psig, then second-stage regulation to delivery pressure |
| Trailer connections | Dual inlet manifolds with check valves for changeover without interrupting flow |
| Low pressure operation | Bypass below 800 psig keeps flow up as the trailer empties |
| Controls | Watlow F4T temperature and interlock controller with Modbus TCP |
| Safety | Heaters run only with flow, independent high limit on each heater, fail-closed shutdown valve, E-stop, low inlet and outlet temperature trips |
| Area classification | Class I Division 2 skid; temperature control panel mounted outside the classified area |
| Design standards | ASME Section VIII Div. 1, B31.3, NEC, NFPA |
The PRS-E450 is built to the Hope Gas project basis. Larger electric units are engineered to order. Contact engineering for a sized proposal.
Electric heating for sites and customers that exclude fired and catalytic equipment.
Dual trailer manifolds with check valves let a trailer swap happen while gas keeps flowing.
A low pressure bypass below 800 psig keeps delivery up as trailer pressure falls, so more of each trailer is used.
Heaters run only with flow and each carries an independent high limit, with a fail-closed shutdown valve and E-stop.
Watlow F4T temperature and interlock controller with Modbus TCP for the utility's SCADA.
Final assembly, FAT and loop checks happen in our shop. Issues get caught in the shop, not on your site.
Every PRS ships with a complete engineering package: P&IDs, GA drawings, electrical load lists and an O&M manual. Critical spares are stocked at our shop for fast response.
Field service, troubleshooting and remote diagnostics are handled by the same team that designed and built the unit.
